Homestead

For the company outing here in SLC, we stayed for 2 nights at Homestead resort. There was really nothing much to do except to eat and rest. Since there was not much activity, we created our own. The first night, we all played this game called Cranium. My team won (who else). The next night, the boys had a longggg drinking session.





On our way back to our apartments, we passed through this mini waterfalls. We decided to take a rest stop to take some pictures. We ended up hiking the mountain too (no trail!) to get closer to the falls. It was worth it.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon park last Sunday. I was a bit hesitant at first because of the steep admission price but I went anyway. I thought I could practice some of stuffs I learned from reading "The Better Photo Guide to Digital Photograpy".

The place is not bad at all. They have a waterpark inside and a lot of great spine-tingling rides. For some reason, I was really fearless that day that I was able to ride most of them. I was not like that before. In fact, I have been to Enchanted Kingdom more or less 5 times but I have only ridden Space Shuttle twice.

Anyway, here are some of the pics I have taken. Notice that you won't find any blurs in the pics of moving rides. Cool huh?

Seattle

We went Seattle over the weekend. Our plane ticket was provided by the company, as an incentive for all the long hours we have put in for the past couple of months. I am getting used to these free trips. Hehe...

Out first stop was Seattle Waterfront and Pike's Place Market. We got to see the very first Starbuck's coffee shop as well as Athenian Inn restaurant which was featured in the movie 'Sleepless in Seattle'.





On our way to historic Pioneer Square, we visited the Seattle Central library - a unique and odd-looking steel and glass 11-level building.



At the historic Pioneer Square, we took the Underground City tour. It was the coolest thing to see a city under the present street level. There was a pumbling problem decades before that the street level has to be raised. As an effect, the first floor of most buildings you see in the street used to be the 2nd floor. How cool is that?

Next stop was a free tour of University of Washington, provided by our American officemate. The campus is amazing! I'd love to take a course here in the future.




The next day, we went to the Museum of Flight. We got to board Air Force One as well as Concorde which last flew on 2003 due to high operational cost. Concorde flies its passengers to their destination in half the time a normal plane would take!





We saved the best for last - Space Needle - Seattle's landmark. The view of the city and harbor from top was magnificent.
