Day trip to Mambukal

Day 2
Jun 13, 2014
Bacolod

For this day, we decided to see the seven waterfalls of Mambukal. To get there, we went to the bus terminal right across Libertad public market and rode the mini bus (35 PHP fare) for about an hour.

We arrived at Mambukal Mountain resort and found a full fledged resort - quaint cabins, multiple swimming pools, various activities like boating and zip line. We sticked to our plan though and started the hike to see the seven falls. Most of the falls though were prohibited for swimming - some were even only seen thru a view deck. Alas, the hike required some stamina (we took a few rests between falls) which my friends unfortunately lacked. We only got to see 5 falls before we decided to go back - the last ones would require another hour of hike.

It was already late in the afternoon when we got back to Bacolod. Since we wanted to eat dessert at Calea again, we went back to Lacson street and ate at Cafe Uno, which we found right across Calea. What I liked most about this restaurant was its collections of film magazines (Empire, Entertainment Weekly, etc). I could actually stay there for hours, if only the food was more affordable. Panini costs 350PHP and I think I ordered that because it was the cheapest among the choices. It tasted good though, as one can already expect from trendy cafes.
